The pieces incorporate several genetic elements including the helix itself, histones, codons, genomic repeats, and RNA sequences.

A brief description of those elements and the conceptual basis of each piece is provided for each selection below.

Sculpted Vessels

Many of these pieces encode a specific mRNA, genomic element, or repeated DNA sequence. The bases are represented by abstract units placed in a particular order, one-by-one, to create the vessel. Each piece essentially builds itself according to the encoded sequence.

Abstract

These pieces are inspired from the idea that a genetic element could be interpreted or formed into a shape or structure that lends itself to imagination.

Towers

DNA towers loosely resemble the double helix and the many rock cairns encountered on Colorado hiking trails.

Fun

What can I say...just fun.
